B*tch, I don't know your life...YOU CAN'T SIT WITH US.

If you're here, it's either because some tempting tweet directed you to this post, or you are a reg around here. If you are a regular, congrats. I think we all love gloating about ourselves thinking this will inspire you to want to be our new bff or just because well, we know ourselves better than anyone so why not chat about something we know like the back of our hand! Also, have you met Allison yet? Here's your chance!

1. Do you have any siblings?

A: Yes, I have two younger sisters :)

R: Yes! Younger brother and a rockstar of an older sister. She blog/designs over at The Atelier!

2. Why blogging? Why not like, rollerblading club?

A: Well for one, rollerblading is hard work. I used to all the time when I was younger. Tried it recently and could barely go down the street. Way too hard. I'd always wanted to try blogging. Being a marketing major in college and having just recently graduated I had no job and nothing to do. What better way to showcase my skills than by starting a blog? Plus my family likes to keep up with my life and I've been told I'm a pretty good writer (not to brag or anything)

R: Not sure why I said rollerblading club, maybe just because I've always thought how cool it is to rollerblade. I wanted to around campus and my friends judged on, so no go with that plan OR the creation of a club. I blog because I like to write and I can do it in bed.

3. Favorite movie quote/lyric and why:

A:Wow this is a hard one. Most of my favorite movie quotes are so so random and nobody would get it. Umm..."Bitch I don't know your life!" -Baby Mama.....aka I could quote the whole movie.

R: Anything mean girls. YOU CAN'T SIT WITH US. Best movie to quote ever. And I do it quite often, even on my instagrams.

4. My favorite holiday to celebrate is....

A: My favorite holiday to celebrate is Christmas! It's the MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! Everyone is generally nicer and it's cold outside and everything is just great (plus presents)

R: My birthday. Please find me someone who doesn't love all the notifications/loving and exposure of really ugly pictures of themselves. Also, presents.
Snapchat selfies during blate with Lauren (we sort of celebrated my birthday...so it counts!)

5. Favorite Place to visit:

A: My favorite place to visit is Pittsburgh. J and I have made it an annual thing (two years and counting) to go see a Steelers Game. The past two years we saved up cans and spare change to pay for everything once there! It even snowed last time we went which was super exciting for this southern girl!

R: Israel. Prettiest place on earth. 'Nuff said.

6. Your favorite family tradition

A: My fave family tradition would have to be family vacations. I know I'm probably getting too old for these things, but every time we get together it's bound to be loads of fun, aggravation, and good stories for later.

R: Def agreeing with Allison on this one! I LOVE going on family vacation (although I keep getting older), it's always the best of time together because were usually relaxed (most times...sorry dad) and we can just joke around. Almost all of our "family insiders" (you have those too, right?) come from vacations. We go to florida at least once every year, and it's always bound to be fun. Except when you and your brother both get the stomach virus on thanksgiving.......
7. Sum up what you've learned/gained from blogging in 5 words:

A: Better writing skills/new friends

R: Go on dates that suck (SoICanBlogAboutIt!!!!)

Make sure to say pop over and stalk chat away with Allison!

pass the baton, please

Hey you blog baton-er's.
Of course it's typical of someone on this joyous occasion of holding the ever so presh baton to explain to you about them on their bliggity-blog that day.

I would say go ahead, drink your morning coffee but with Sunshiney Rach, it's pretty different around here. There may or may not be a 86% chance that while reading some of my posts, you will spit out your coffee from laughing. So, hold up on the coffee, tea, and pumping spice lattes (which I still drink even though its February).
Well friends, I am your average Joe Rachel.  I'm finding my way through college, and am 99.98% of the time too mature for my own good. I help on the social media team at Sweet Lemon Mag, running the instagram account (@sweetlemonmag) and I enjoy tinder too much for my own good.

Alright, as time has past I'm kidding. I've met some real losers on there. Like last week, I had a first date and this guy asked me to be his girlfriend THAT NIGHT. Can you say "He belongs in the loony bin?" He also tried to eat my face.

ANYWAY.

If you want to know more about me (to buy me gifts....), today is the luckiest day of luck cause that's just what gonna happen around here.

1. I hate feet. I mean I'm only warning you incase you somehow become to close to my feet. It's not even that I hate feet (Ok I do, they are hideous), but it's the part I'm most self conscious of on my body. Weird, right?

2. As if you haven't already judged me enough, I love to organize. It's my happy place/thing to do (besides blogging), and Along with bookstores!

3. I've had a blog since January 2013 however, I didn't start making bloggy friends until last May. Where was I hiding for four months......

4.I am weirdly obsessed with pageants. If I'm being unrealistic here, I plan/dream to work in Public Relations for the Miss Universe Organization. Heck, I'd be happy even running off copies or sweeping the floor. I've competed in two pageants and although never placing, it's two of the greatest moments in my life and wouldn't trade it for pretty much anything. P.s I'm not blonde anymore.
5. Sunshine (I'm a summer baby) and Sinatra. Simply put, they make me the happiest. Thus the birth of my blog name.

6. One time I was tumblr famous for a day. It was awesome. (Kidding it only got posted like 5 times, but ya know its something).

7. I love to travel. As much as I would love nothing more to live my life on a beach or body of water, I'd rather be finding myself visiting history and museums.

8. Speaking of history, if you'd be interested in learning about my trip to concentration camps in Poland, I suggest ya click here.

I hate odd numbers, so I will leave you with 8 things. If you want to find more out about my doodling skills, my artsy instagrams, and my selfies galore, you can find me on my social media.

Call me beep me if you wanna reach me.

Flashback friday, and some party peeps.

Fridays after 3PM are meant to be lazy. For me, all fridays are lazy considering I have one class. That starts at eleven. I know, I live such a life, aren't you jelly? Shouldn't be. So like me, and since my blog is a reflection of me, we're getting all lazy around here.
Kidding, I really don't mean lazy. I mean like cozy. Like let's put on sweatpants, watch netflix, and pin our hearts out. Valentines day is coming up, after all. Yes, the rumors are true I even have a pinterest board for my imaginary boyfriend.

Now that I've rambled. I'd like to get on all warm and fuzzy with ya and share some fun things. And by fun things I mean fun people. And by fun people.......well I mean my blog friends that are also real life friends. So, yes, I guess you could say my real life[blog] friends know me better than most of my friends I call "my friends".
Meet Cat. The Pippi to my Lola [our weirdest inside joke...and one of the few I remember]. Cat has been my longest best friend, starting in the good ole fifth grade. I am not exaggerating when I say we used to spend every weekend together. She also is to blame for my wanna be punk/emo phase, so thanks girl. She has always had a sarcastic tone and carefree attitude, both which I've admired ALWAYS. She just started blogging and if you are looking for a good "I totally feel you but I don't ever have the guts to post that on my blog" thing, then check her out. SHE ALSO HAS THE CUTEST PUPPY EVER SO WHAT MORE CONVINCING IS NEEDED? yea, not sure either.
Chloe and I met through mutual friends my sophomore (?) year of high school. I was visiting friends in Michigan (where she lives!) and my friends I came with were in a huge fight. Chloe and I instantly bonded because everyone was just full of immaturity back then and it's never been the same since! Need a girl to make you laugh? Or what about learning about a billion and ten new languages? Or beauty product reviews? Honestly, just someone to gossip with? Chloe's ya girl.
Probably best I don't even begin to get started on why I love Rachael so much. Well for starters *shit shit shit* she keeps me sane, she's also the reason why I spell my own name with an A in it. And I never did that in all of my life. Why should you read her blog? She's going on the big t-h-r-e-e years of blogging [and her first post is hilarious. I just saw it myself yesterday!..] and I suggested we go somewhere cool for it. Ya know why not celebrate her accomplishments by getting rid of my savings account. Also half of you already sponsor her anyway, so you 100% know why I have so much love for this girl. Back me up!
Say hola to Jenny! Jenny and I met, through friends, but of course, we became friends. We are also "sisters". Like not even sorority sisters (or real life, obviously), but we met through our high school youth group. We ended up going to a two week sleep away camp together but were never good friends until afterwords. If you love cooking and DIY's, check her fabulous self out. We also had a max brenner date in the city and it was amaze.

Hopefully you've found new people to love stalk, because let's be real: when we find a blogger we love, we stalk them on all social media STAT. If you go over to say hello, make sure to say I sent you.
Since I'm KOABD and all.
Kind of a big deal, ya know.

P.S make sure to wear red and instagram/tweet the picture with the hashtag #goRed for the National Heart Disease Awareness day! You can find me sporting some red here and here.

Blogaversary Giveaway!

I didn't promise you a puppy (because I'd take it before even considering figuring out how in the world I would ship it to you). Or a boyfriend (because clearly, I need one too..). However an amazing giveaway? I'd say that sounds pretty fair.

I also wanted to tell you weird facts about myself because I think all of us humans (I have aliens that read le blog ya know.....), love to talk about ourselves thinking people actually really create their whole day about learning about a rando they read on the interweb.

1. I've been told I have a strange vocabulary and are A+ in the making up words department. I had a phase where I would add "sauce" and "ski" to the end of words (i.e Lamesauce, Fabski). Kiddycup makes fun of me because I say "loon" and "icky". Yet I'm not a little blonde cute girl that you can pinch my cheeks as I tug on my mom's purse in the supermarket saying I want to go home. See, I'm really not 5.

2. Speaking of cheek bones, I think that is my best yet worse quality. I like them sometimes in some pictures. Yet the other times I find myself wanting to rip them off my face because I just look like a super polish teenager. I also don't have cheeks you and your grandma can squeeze. Blame the bones.

3. I've been wanting to write an about me post for months now, and now that I am writing it, I can't think of a single thing to tell you. So clearly, I need to come up with ways to remember these stupid facts. You'd think it would be easy. Since it's about me and all...

4. I want to live in a city when I'm older, but really who doesn't. It's where all the jobs and hot single 20 somethings hide out in. So obviously I am in. Hope I'm blogging still, going to be an interesting world/thing to blog about.

5.I love movies about the White House. My date with the presidents daughter? First kid? Yep, my all-time favorite two. I also saw White House down, but I don't do scary stuff. So it was rated somewhere below 7 on my I like you movie scale.

6. The feeling of being organized is the shit. Although my floor looks like Hurricane Sandy never left Jersey, if you look at my agenda book I got it all figured out.

7. I've moved a lot. And by moved I mean moved to three different towns all surrounding each other. Guess thats why I really can't stay in one place for so long...(i.e Universities)

8. I like being in a relationship. really, you say? Yea, I mean who doesn't is my true question. But I've always had a boyfriend. Like since dating was a thing. My first "crush" was second grade. My first official boyfriend (AIM type of relationship) was in the 4th grade. My first kiss was with my boyfriend in the 8th grade. I've had a boyfriend almost every year of my life since the 8th grade except my junior year of high school. I'm not what you're thinking. I just like the feeling of being able to spend endless amounts of money on a great person (at the time I thought that, at least) so I really don't hit up the local mall and spend endless amounts on pleather skirts I don't need. And probably won't end up wearing. It will stay in my closet for almost all of eternity. Sorry about it, too.

9. I don't have a certain style. One day I love looking really really preppy. But the day after that? I mean I could be found wearing a punk band I really don't know who they are except I liked the design on the shirt and it was four dollars. Looking back, I'm thankful that I went through my emo phase (no, pictures are not necessary) in middle school because it made me very diverse. Don't worry though -- my mom never let me get those weird haircuts or put bows in my hair constantly. I did, however, have bright pink pants courtesy of Hot Topic.

This is the best you're gonna get from me. Email for more blackmail, if interested. They areeeeee pretty hilarious. Also, these pictures are on my comp card (when I was with a talent agency *hair flip* for a whole matter of like a day)

10. My initials monogram means the world to me. I spent the past year loving on monogram everything and I really was never quite sure why I loveeeeeeeed showing off the good ole "rGd" on everything and anything. Even my car. Sadly, this past september I figured it out. My grandmother has the same initials as me, and had sadly passed. I always admired her art and her passion for life, even at an old age. Rock on, RDG. So if you want to get me monogram anything, I won't hesitate for a millisecond.

Now the good stuff. I present to you, my lovechild's greatest creation (exaggeration here):

If you like blog shit, because, you are clearly a blogger, hit up this giveaway.
+This giveaway will run for one week, ending on January 22nd.
+Must live in US/Canada to enter.

#Blogmopolitan

Totally guilty of wanting to read cosmo when my mom wouldn't let me. She told me to stick to the J14, teen pop, and 17 mags, even. I'm not even too sure what age I was at when my mom just let me plop it into the cart while shopping, but hey maybe that's why I matured so fast...

Anyway, Erin rocks ish and I was so excited to see when she made her Blogmopolitan sheet a linky-upper. I wanted to point out that Erin is also one of the realest bloggers in da game. Meaning, she makes you laugh til you tear, nod your head; wishing you could grab her through the screen and give her a big hug because you agree with what she is saying, and also talks about her trendy life in NYC. And by trendy I think she means shops at target more than the average white girl, eating chipotle as much as possible, and dressing helluva lot cuter than some of us bloggers. You get the point.

Here's to Erin.

Now go learn what ya don't know about me.

10/24/13

All that sunshine and warm stuff

Blogfriends are as great, maybe greater than IRL friends. I mean sure you can't go grab lunch face-to-face, or go out partying, but they know that you don't eat the color green in a bag of skittles or the personal struggles you deal with. Heck, they even appreciate your overload of insta's and tweets in a day. You just have a different sometimes greater connection with bloggy friends. Ya feels?

So I've probably told you this before, but I NEVER EVER (emphasis on EVER) answer these award thingy ma-bobs. Yes, they are great and I appreciate the love, but lets be honest I'm lazy. I don't want to search through blogs to see who is big, or who doesn't have that many followers just for them to answer questions.

Like any other blogger (or person, really) who doesn't love to talk about themselves in hopes people want to actually know more? Well, thanks to Wendy, I got nominated for the Sunshine award. I'm going to answer the questions because it's exciting but I'm 99.99% sure I won't nominate you. But if you want to answer these questions to...go right ahead. Do your thing lady.

1. Do you have a favorite sports team?
I wish I could say I follow sports consistantly. Thankfully my whole life I've had a brother to update me on things or to be my voice when talking with boys about sports. Psh, and they think I am cultured...However, I do give about 3 flying effs about the Phillies and baseball. And I like visiting other ballparks, so there's something. I guess.
2. Bike, swim, run, or all three?
Well I can't swim. Alright I can, I just choose not to. I'm sure if I ever get attacked by sharks (which I would never because I hate going far into the ocean), I'll pull out my doggy paddle skills and gtfo. As for running? No. Going to stop you right there because I can only run for as long as it takes you to finish this sentence. So yes, biking is where it's at. Don't get me started about my spin class experience. Can you say death?

3. How would you respond to a rude person?
Just ignore them, because they suck. Why are you rude in the first place?

4. If you had to, which would you give up; sight, smell, touch, taste?
UGH THIS ONE IS HARD. Probably touch, since the rest are much more significant in my opinion.

5. Would you cover for a co-worker who stole something from work?
I feel like this is something they ALWAYS ask me on job interviews, and hopefully a future employer NEVER finds le blog, but the correct interview answer is yes, I would report them because they are doing something wrong. I'm sorry but unless its something VERY expensive and would effect the company in hole, then I don't think it's my place. At all. I'm a baby sorry.

6. Would you tell your best friend, if you saw their spouse cheating?
UM YEA. Ain't flippin cool. Buh Bye.

7. Carmel or Caramel?
Carmel. It's like I say GAZ while the rest of the entire world says GAS.

8. When and where, was your last vacation?
This summer I went to Myrtle beach with the fam! Next up? Canada in a few weeks!
9. What is your favorite candy bar?
Seriously such a bad question, it ALWAYS changes. I'm feeling kit-kats recently but I know that will change in about a month or so. Ask again later.

10. If you could change your first name, and wanted to, which name would you pick?
Isabelle, or Eloise. I feel sorry for my future daughter because she is going to get stuck with one of those names. Sorry, future hubs.

11. Plaid or paisley?
PLAID. Except I hate wearing it, I need to learn how to style it. #NotAFashionBlogger

Now ya know what you didn't know. And if you did....well congrats you're creepy ;)

Little things in life mean the most, ya heard?

Have you ever read the book Things to Be Happy about? Or Been on the website?
Have you ever just had that nice breeze of happiness when you think about something that fills your heart with warm and fuzzies?

Go explore the website. It will have you leaving with appreciating the little things in life more than you know.

What will you find on my happy list? Well...

Frank Sinatra. His voice, regardless of the age. It's truly timeless to me, and reminds me of my parents blasting it during car rides as a child. Clearly he has such a big impact on my life that I name part of my blog after him. Kind-of-a-big-deal? Heck yes.

Polynesian Hotel at Disney in Florida. Something about that hotel makes me so happy. I love when I get random whifs of who the heck knows what smell it even is but sometimes I find it and it brings me back to my childhood running around on a cool Florida morning getting ready for brunch at my favorite hotel. Also associated with Disney, the GREATEST place ever aka instant happiness.

The color yellow.

Smooth Jazz. Again triggers a sense that reminds me of my childhood.

Sunsets.

Singing in the Rain (the movie). Granted I love singing in the rain like literally singing in the rain, but I love the feeling of an old fashioned movie and songs.

Pageants. Psh as if ya didn't know that about me.

Cinnamon Sugar Eggo waffles that haven't been toasted. Trust me they aren't like rock hard coming out of the fridge (for whatever reason) so I eat them cold. and I am a happy child young adult.

Reconnecting with friends you haven't talked to in a while and you talk as if you haven't missed a single day.

Thinking about days at sleep away camp.

Working at a summer camp and seeing the little girls flock to you because they admire you so much and want to be just like you.

How close I am to my immediate family.

Discovering new songs...which are soon put on repeat forever.

The fact I can basically go to ANY state and know I have a friend I could stay with.

Israel. Israel. Israel. Israel. My forever home.
(and the memories/friendships I've made on my trips)

PUPPIES. obv.

Watching home-videos/reminiscing on family inside jokes.

When my role model acknowledges me.

The Jersey Shore. NOT THE TV SHOW. The place I've gone every summer of my entire life.

Birthday celebrations.

Old school disney movies.

Having to visit a Margaritaville every family vacation we go on.
On that note? Jimmy Buffet

Finding a new book that you just can't put down.

Family movie nights.

Summer concerts with best friends (and a summer shandy..shhh!)

Linking up with my spirit animal, Whit for back that azz up with some feel good jams.

Good Day by Nappy Roots on Grooveshark
Whoa! After writing this all down, I just feel the happiness oozing out of my fingertips.
Cool. I guess...
:)
So...
What makes you happy?!

8/21/13

Off to school today, and my 100th post!!!!!

Happy 100th post to this baby blogger!
Yeah yeah we say we get to know someone through their pretty designed about me's and all of their awesome posts. But I bet you don't know THAAAAT much about them. In reality. Like, I bet you didn't know that my man Obama and I share the same bday, right? Unless of course you're a real life friend and somehow discovered my blog. Again.

As you read this I am treking my way to school. gulp. I am going to freshman orientation (gag me with a spoon. I am not a freshman). I do however, hope to make new friends and I am excited and scared to see what is in store for me. #Startingfresh

Sooooo in honor of 100....here's to learning about me!

I eat peanut butter like it's my job. During the summer I eat it at least once a day. I have peanut butter ice cream, peanut buttered candy (obv), and my favorite is peanut butter and banana (and sometimes fluff!)

I despise feet. Seriously that's all you need to know about it.

I've gone to jewish camps my whole life. Yes, I am a Jewish blogger. I went to day camp my whole life and then I was in a youth group that I went to camp through them for three different summers and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I've had some of the best times in my life at sleep away camp.
When planking was 'in'....

Even if I'm in a huge bed, I'd rather cuddle. Does that mean I'm needy or something? ergggg

I've traveled to Israel twice. Once in the 10th grade and once in the 12th grade on a trip called the March of the living (post to come eventually, promise). The March of the Living is a two week trip to Poland and Israel, and while in Poland you visit many concentration camps. It was a life changing trip I wouldn't EVER trade for anything.
The beautiful breathtaking city of Jerusalem. Spring 2012.

I was in a Bollywood film freshman year of high school. It is called "New York" and directed by M night Shyamalan. I'm only an extra though. My brother is a little leauge baseball player in one of the final scenes.

I have a younger brother and an older sister.

I went to a One Direction concert MDW 2012 as a spur of the moment decision. #notFangirling

I've gone to see The Maine four different times. So scene of me, right? I still love them!

I was in a Jewish youth group (B'nai B'rith Youth Organization) during all four years of high school and I couldn't be prouder. My youth group really helped me find and develop who I was, as well as enriched my leadership and people skills, and made such great friends. The greatest part is that we can go months with out talking and pick up where we left off. I couldn't thank this organization enough for giving me a life changing experience through many different ways.

I could eat sushi every day, if it was healthy. Or a panera tuna salad sandwich. Orrrrrrr a bacon, egg, and cheese from Dunkin. All great choices, am I right?

I could watch Breakfast at Tiffany's, Bring it on, and the Lizzie McGuire movie countless times and never be tired of it.

I had braces for 8 too freakin' long years of my life. From 4th grade to the summer before senior year. Serious Rachel struggles.

Now ya know, what ya didn't know!
I hope you still stick around! If you do, you are a gem.
Keep doin' you.
