Hotel Habits

I just got back from Boston and it was a such a great time (Post on it later, obvi)! I went to Boston for a wedding...and some site seeing...and some friend reuniting! Whenever I stay at hotels, I always feel some sense of relaxation and enjoyment (even though its not my own bed). I felt like listing the weird hotel habits I have to see if I'm alone on them or not.

1. After my stay, I steal shampoos and conditioners. I mean its only right since you used it and it will go to waste, right? I only take the good smelling ones though. Oh! And you can't forget about the lotion.

2. PENS. I loveeee pens and the way different ones write aka thats why I take them from every hotel. Who doesn't love a free pen though? Seriously..

3. Ok I dont do this but during my stay my one hotel (yea, talk about traveling) had a blowdryer...with a diffuser, which I've never seen at a hotel before. I was thinking what would happen if I took it home with me. It's so small and cute. I realized they have credit cards on file sooooo no go on that idea. (I swear I'm not a bad person).

4. Maybe it's just the kid in me, but my brother and I search through every cabinet to see if people left stuff behind or just to see if there is anything in them. Not sure why -- just a sibling tradition. Another family tradition is that we reminisce ALWAYS about past family vacations and inside jokes, always puts a smile on my face. Oo! We almost always have a movie night on vacation. We're the family that rents those overpriced movies via pay-per-view

5. Sleeping in. Well, when I can at least. Sleeping in and the feeling of vacation (unless your staying at a hotel for a conference..I'm sorry)is so serene and makes me feel at ease.

What other weird hotel habits do you have?

If I lived in the 50's...

...I'd do lunch with Marilyn Monroe...

...and date Frank Sinatra.

I'd use my glorious dancing and singing skills to star as Kathy Selden in Singing In The Rain.
(Except...it would be so fun to play Lina LamontNooooo! Noooo! Nooo!)

But if I didn't get to be co-stars with Dean Martin, then I'd choose to be Judy Garland.

...and be Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, obvi.

If all else fails...I'd be a housewife living in 'Levittown,' with her stereotypical husband going to work, while keeping check always on my three glorious children and puppy, Spot. Oh!
P.S, I'd make the most delectable bakery items! Whoooo wants some cupcakes?

This is my husband and I! Clearly it turned out his name wasn't Frank Sinatra, but he looks like him so I guessed that it would do! Look how in love we are!

Hey! Don't forget my Lilly!!! Can't wait to take our family holiday
card all decked in matching patterns. Lilly Pulitzer? What a saint.

What would you do if you lived in the 50's?

I can't believe...

...I have one more week after this left of classes! Freshman year is almost over and summer is literally right around the corner!

...The Great Gatsby comes out so soon! I've been a fan for so long and my sweet 16 theme was The Great Gatsby. Yep, I wore a flapper dress (that I wish I still had).  Checkout the soundtrack list...Im waaaaay too excited!

(read: sorry for my ugly expression. I'm not too sure what I was thinking either..)

...I just went spray tanning. And I smell so icky! Beauty is pain...or a lack of smelling good basically..

...That I've been at this constant blogging thing for over a month! If you are reading this and you have any blog advice on anything I'd love to hear!
Who are my favorite blogs?
Robin (who I linked up with today), Erin, and Kayla

...Alyssa, Miss USA 2011, totally shouted me out in her recent interview at the Shorty Awards. Safe to say every time I watch it I can't help but smile!

...I just remember the movie My Date With The Presidents Daughter! Does anyone remember it? It was on Disney Channel but it was such a classic! The song was pretty darn catchy too..listen!
Uhhhh what is she wearing!

Come back on friday! I have an exciting post to share!

4/22/13

The week of April 20th's past

I hate having total writers block at first, yet I came up with an awesome post and I'm so excited to share with you guys! I've always been a spring&summer baby, as I've mentioned before and I'm so thankful for every experience I've had in my life thus far! I wanted you all to get a glimpse into my life and see what has made me who I am today!

**
Being that freshman year of high school is the year of awkward peace signs, hardcore duck faces, and looking away from the camera, I could not find a suitable picture to post where I wouldn't be black mailing myself. Freshman year stays in the past, most definitely.

Sophomore Year I was president of a chapter (sort of like a high school sorority) for a year and it was the greatest experience ever. I learned so many skills that I know will help me in the 'real world' and has already had such an impression on me! This group of girls really taught me how to be a leader, and a sister.

Being that I was (read: sort of still am) obsessed with The Maine my junior year, and my dad had planned a spring break trip to Arizona...I was super pumped to go! I had him whip up directs on the cars GPS and we drove down some weird streets in Tempe! I found this symbol, which is found on their album Black and White, and almost stopped breathing. I was so excited! This picture knew how to make all my Maine tumblr followers jealous. Unfortunately for all the Maine lovers today, this has been taken down by the town (not sure why) and has had all 'Maineiacs' in a state of sadness.

Yep, Senior year I had me some blonde hair. I was and still am soooo thankful I was able to travel to Poland and Israel for a week each on a program called The March of the Living. An experience I will never forget. Ask me about it sometime! I'd love to post if you guys are interested :)

Here we are. Freshman year of college. A picture from my visit this past weekend. My friend pictured above and I have been friends for 3 years now and regardless of distance, I can see him as if I just saw him yesterday -- it makes me so very happy!
*During my trip I was also able to visit their dining hall which apparently is the biggest dining hall in the U.S besides ones at military bases* Cool right? Yea, I think so!

Friday Findings || The little things

Happy end of the week to you all! I was a bit unsure as to what I wanted to share with you all this fantastic friday, but I figured it out! I'm currently sitting on a bus...WITH wifi! And outlets! Ok, maybe I'm being a bit too excited for a young adult living in the year 2013, but busses I've been on that claim to have wifi usually don't have it working, or their plugs are broken. Yeah, I'm not too sure what that means either... I was so worried I would have nothing to do for the next two and a half hours but helloooooo blogging! On top of my excitement for this trip, this is truly a cherry on top! It really is the little things...I swear!

So back to today's post...I wanted to share with you all the little things in life
that make me so very happy

Yep, thats the boyfriend. I know you think this was probably taken yesterday on account that we are both sooo young looking, but I am thankful for him and our history pre-relationship! We, as friends, were able to venture to Israel at a young age and experience it together and can still talk about it now which is so great Maybe another time I'll share our weird history of stories (we'll see...probably not since they are so embarrassing). All in all, I am so lucky to be able to have a great friend that turned into a boyfriend. He really is the greatest I could ask for, no matter the distance.

Watching Breakfast At Tiffany's

Interior Designing
Maybe it's been a hobby of mine to redecorate/decorate/craft since the good old Sims days, but either way, it is so relaxing for me! Yes, it can be stressful but I've never actually been able to redecorate my house since I haven't fully put on my big girl pants and enter the 'real world' yet. I love designing though and this simple hobby makes me so very happy!

It hasn't been hard at all to feel welcome in the blogosphere. Although I am just recently starting out, I've already made great connections and look forward to waking up in the morning to check out what everyones posting about! I admire so many great bloggers and hope to one day accomplish where they are in their blogging career! When you leave comments, it makes me so so happy! It shows that real people are actually checking out my blog, not just someone accidentally came across it and clicked the backspace button accidentally. Yay friends!

aka what I'm doing right now...traveling!
As vile as airports can be, the thrill of going through security and hearing my boarding zone get called gets my blood pumping! Regardless of where I'm going, I get so excited. This weekend I am very fortunate to be able to see some friends at their college (Michigan State) and reunite for I haven't seen quite a few in over a year. Isn't it just the best feeling when you think you won't see someone for a while or ever again and the feeling you get when you know you will be reunited? Alright guys, I know I'm not alone!

Before I get motion sickness I think I'm going to wrap this one up. Between the medium iced coffee, which was actually so satisfying, and the bumpy michigan roads, I don't know how well I'm going to last on this bus ride! Enjoy your weekends everyone!

I can't believe....

I can't believe...this week is filled with being super busy! Today I have an exam, a job interview for the summer (fingers crossed), and tomorrow I'm off to Michigan! Super ah! Still so unsure of what I should even be packing. Knowing me I'll pack like I'm going to be gone for a month, yet it's four days...

I cant believe...I saw my best friend (read: boyfriend) on friday! Although it was for a few hours, it was totally worth it. One more month to go!

I can't believe...I took risks. I usually have a pretty open minded attitude towards a lot of things, but sometimes I can become really hesitant. My close friends and family have told me I should break out of my comfort zone a little bit, and I'm thrilled with my results! :)

I can't believe...I'm actually starting to grow into my hair color! Hooray for not blondes! (...never thought I'd be saying that one. Ever.)

I can't believe...I wear one way to many striped shirts for my own good. See: instagram!

I can't believe...how muchhhhh of a happier person I become during spring and ultimately summer! Everything around me just brings me serious happiness! I'm not one to be a morning person in the winter, but once warm weather comes upon us, I jump right out of bed and the non-morning people shun me...gotta love it!

How cute is this postcard? Found it off of this weeks Sunday Secrets!

Places I Must Visit (via Pinterest)

1. Versailles || So much history has happened here! Did I mention part of my favorite movie was shot here? (hint: Midnight in Paris)

2. Dubai || I've always heard such interesting things about this city...it even has an underwater hotel!

3. Mayan ruins, Mexico || I don't care what my future husband says, we need to honeymoon in mexico! As much as an a-typical beach resort is great and relaxing...I do love vacations when I get to adventure! I've learned about the Mayan ruins for years, and my parents went there a bit before I was born...I just need to go! People think I'm crazy but I can be a bit of a history nerd at heart!

4. Rome, specifically the Trevi fountain || Of course, another one of my favorite movies was shot here (read: Lizzie McGuire...I'm a kid at heart, I know). I do want to tour ALL of Italy sometime in my life, but the fountain is super fascinating to me! Maybe I'll be able to meet an Italian pop sensation that will think I look like his ex-music partner and force me to sing at the upcoming award show? Eh, Paolo was not a nice boy anyway whatsoever!

Still my favorite movie....and I'm totally fine with that!

What far off places do you want to adventure to?!

friday findings || my role model

When I began my pageant obsession, people judged pageants as 'stupid', 'only caring about beauty', and 'dumb girls that can't use maps'. Nowa days...since my pageant obsession took off (circa 2010), I find my twitter-feed full of people's Miss (teen) USA favorites and people commenting on everyones final answer and giggling at the girl who trips (trust me, its hard to walk in a gown with a train!). Ultimately, I wanted to share with you guys a little about the lady that I look up to the most!
Yup, that's her! Meet Alyssa Campanella, Miss USA 2011.
(read: I posted this picture because I'm still literally obsessed with that dress)

This is the first time Alyssa tweeted at me and I'm pretty sure I freaked out and told everyone I knew because she acknowledged my existence.

By following her on twitter, it gave me (and everyone else who isn't her number #1 [because thats me]), a splash into her personal life and where a bouts! The greatest thing about celebrities having twitters is that their fans can personally connect with them by tweeting at them...the only problem that you only have 140 characters to express your admiration & appreciation!
Brief background: Campanella was Miss Teen New Jersey USA 2007, then competed in Miss NJ USA 2009 and placed first runner up. She then moved to Cali to pursue her modeling career and was soon crowned Miss CA USA 2010. From that point she trained constantly and little to her knowledge she would become Miss USA 2011, and a stylish red headed icon to many.

Yea....I'm pretty dorky..but hey she answered!
**

Reason #17834382 why my beau is the greatest: He tried contacting Alyssa for my birthday. He somehow found her email address (One thing that I never found....which I don't understand how I didn't..) and emailed her asking her if she was coming back to the  dirty jers' anytime soon because meeting her would have been the best present ever. The cutest part was when he said to her, "You actually just tweeted at her and she called me freaking out because she was so happy." (Makes my heart melt) Yup, I told you I was her number one fan...but I thought it was so cute. Ultimately Alyssa is a verrrry busy girl but seeing this email was the best birthday present I could ever ask for!

So with that in mind, I started to bug my entire twitter feed and group of friends to tweet at Alyssa to have her call me for my birthday. I was so nervous she was actually going to call me that I showered with my phone on loud in the bathroom, as well as at my birthday dinner, my mom and boyfriend jokingly took my phone away for I had it on the table and my eyes were literally glued to it. So during dinner my phone randomly lit up so the boyfriend said I could check it! drum roll pleaaaase.....It wasn't a call -- but it was a tweet, and that was the second best thing I could ask for! (Ok, maybe like third because the first best thing would be meeting her!!)

I was supposed to meet Alyssa the first weekend in April...but due to last minute planning I couldn't go. A great friend of mine who I've made through the pageant world went and got a signed photo for me. When she sent me the picture, I was on cloud 9! I also have many many spazz attacks when she writes on my wall.

Whenever I get the opportunity to write about anything we'd like for my classes, I always try to find a way to write about MUO or Alyssa. True story: the other night I had to write a speech for speech class and we had to introduce a famous person...and who did I choose? Yeah, you guessed. It was so fun though and luckily I popped it out in under 20 minutes.  True number one fan problems here.

I am so fortunate to have a role model that really communicates with me which is so hard for many girls who look up to their favorite celebrities. Being that she is a celebrity 'on the rise' (but already super famous in my heart), she has time for her fans and I hope that is one thing she never stops, regardless of where she ends up in the future.

Curious as to where you've seen her recently? Her alter ego can be found getting angry at people who don't 'respect the tech' in the new 2014 Kia Forte commercials. Check it out here!!!

**
I know this post is so long, but I really admire her more than anyone else in the world! I hope you read all way through and with me, follow to see where Alyssa goes next! ...Hopefully we'll be seeing her hosting her own television show soon!

~~~~~
Alyssa: if you end up seeing this, please know I am totally not trying to creep you out. I admire your work ethics, leadership skills, fashion style, and overall generosity when it comes to your fans and donating your time and effort to the community. You are truly an inspiration, and most importantly, mine.
I can't believe
Happy wednesday!
**
“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” - Albert Einstein
I cant believe...I got such awesome feedback from my first 'I can't believe' post last wednesday! I am so excited to be a part of Robin's link up from now on, I just need to keep up with it! I am starting to really get involved into the blogosphere which is waaay exciting! I love networking! Although I have few followers, my views have doubled within the past week and I couldn't be happier with the way it is going! I've found so many new blogs from looking at others, and the blog world is just filled with happy and great people! Yay! Interested in who I'm following? Check out my bloglovin!
I can't believe...I actually put my foot down, took my own advice! I feel so much better about things now!
I can't believe...it's been almost a month since I've seen my boyfriend....and it will be almost one month til I see him again! I'm so excited that he's coming to see the Great Gatsby with me! (What a great guy...! & Hello favorite book!)
I can't believe...I found the cutest video of a yorkie puppy ever, courtesy of my beau. look! Not sure how he found it or what he was looking for when he came upon this, but I am hoping for a puppy someday soon...especially a small one! It makes me so happy!
I can't believe....this past week, I finally saw 'Like Crazy'. It starred Jennifer Lawrence pre famous-ness. Yep, just made up my own word/phrase. At the beginning and end it was pretty slow but the middle made my heart melt. It was all about long distance and trying to make it work...from opposite ends of the world aka London and Los Angeles! I know I shouldn't complain about two hours away, but I can never imagine doing long distance that far apart! Regardless of the slower parts, I do recommend any girl who likes a good movie to cry about while shoving 100 calorie packs of popcorn down her throat. (read: me. Totally guilty)
I can't believe...there is only a month left of my freshman year of college! More thrilled than anything, surprisingly, I am ready (hopefully) to start somewhere brand new in the fall - still deciding what the right choice will be.
I can't believe...that my parents offered to book me a flight to Michigan, yet I didn't think about visiting Florida. This jersey weather has been a roller-coaster! One day 60 degrees and sunny -- next day it's in the 40's and pajama's and movie all day weather. All in all, I'm more than pumped to see some of my best friends!
I can't believe...I'm finally getting back into pinterest. There was a month or so where I was too lazy to look up DIY's and plan my future wedding, but boy have I missed it! Head on over to see some of my favorites!
Make sure you check out Robin's blog! I love sunshine, preppy outfits, and florida weather!
unexpected tuesday post: Lilly
Happy tuesday!
I hope your sitting with your windows wide open, blowing in a nice cool breeze as you drink your morning tea/coffee!
What was your reaction to the amazing lady who dared
to mix colors with adventurous patterns death?
It automatically lead me to Pinterest search some quotes of hers.
I had a blain blast and realized that my mom used to constantly dress me in Lilly, and when I was younger I thought it was cute because she bought us matching patterns. As I entered middle school, dealing with kids who only knew of clothing only by the names of Hollister, Justice, and Abercrombie, I knew that Lilly wouldn't be acceptable. I told my mom how I thought it was 'stupid' looking and I never wanted to be caught wearing these clothes. Booooooyyy was I wrong
I would totally post a picture of me in Lilly but I have no access to old photos since I'm at school....but I totally will as soon as I get home and have a chance to look through things!
I love that today, I always find myself pinning the newest Lilly dress to using my super cute Lilly 'you gotta regatta' large agenda. (You can find it here!) Being that I am a broke college student, I think the right choice is for me to save up until I can buy a summer Lilly dress...like this one! (I love the design on the bottom!)
Her legend will forever remain...what a lady, may she rest in peace!
E-l-o-i-s-e.
Who remembers this girl?
I'm such a fan of buzzfeed and came along this article about how Eloise would be if she lived in 2013.
Instagrams, to snuggies, to uggs & some Nashville (which has yet to be taken off of my 'need to watch' list).
If you remember anything about this trendy toddler living in the city, you remember her pink accented room. How I wanted that room so badly when I was younger. I mean, I would still take it today, too!
For some odd reason I can almost never put into words,  I want to name my daughter Eloise. I guarantee it wont go
over well with some, but I think its such a cute spunky name, also being that Eloise was a childhood
favorite of mine, it just works. (Sorry future husband...)
I love the pink everything, everywhere. I love the outfits.
I love her New York life. I love the name Eloise.
friday findings: clarity
Now a days people associate the word clarity with the song made famous by Zedd/Huey Mac (my favorite version is the Huey version). Anyway, my friday finding is a bit different today! Whats your clarity?
Clarity defined is simply 'the quality of being clear, in particular'.
What makes you feel simple & free?
I'm realizing I need to do things for myself as I stated in earlier posts...
Sometimes it really can be the little things in life that make you happy. There are times in everyones lives when you need to try to move on from the past or even let go of something or someone that means the world to you.
(via Etsy)
As I sit here blogging and panting my nails, I realize that THIS is my happiness. I entertain myself with these activities verrrrry often because I am stress free...unless I'm last minute pacing around my room to think of a solid post. I can say from experience, when I go through a rough patch in life I tend to distance myself from it (in a positive) way and occupy myself otherwise.
Note: total shout out to my perfect roommate for cheering me up and buying some trendy new nail polish...check out 'Now you sea me' by L'orĂ©al. So so so beyond recommend it!
Always remember you know yourself better than ANYONE else knows you. Do what will make you happy, regardless of others and their constant persuasions. (note to self: start taking your own damn advice!!!!!!!)
In addition, I love the finding of new followers and friends in the blog community! The past few days more and more are checking out my blog and it is such an exciting feeling! I'm also loviiiiiiin the comments so please feel free to say hello!
Wishing you all the best!
case of the thursdays
Like I've mentioned..I post on a MWF cycle, but today I couldn't resist! School work has recently been placing most of the weight on my shoulders, and all I want to do is sit on my 'blogging throne' and blog some! Happy thursday!
Check out some of the blogs I'm enjoying via Bloglovin!
I would enjoy nothing more than to sit here all day, in a nice comfy relaxing spot, and check out my favorite bloggers and what they're up to!
What blogs do recommend? I'd be more than interested to read!
I can't believe (the start of it all)
Thanks to Robin at The Sunshine Diary, she has forever inspired me to become the classy, real life, up to date blogger that I want to become! She has this awesome post every wednesday titled I can't believe... It's just an awesome topic, as well as conversation starter, so stay up to dates with mine too! (Note: these posts are also going to be link-ups with her!) If you check out her blog and don't fall in love, I recommend you reread the post you read.
"I can't believe...."
I can't believe...that it is FINALLY April! It has a lot of exciting things heading my way such as a trip to Michigan then Boston, to see friends and also enjoy a family wedding! The Michigan plan was just put together last week with the help of my parents for a random, super early birthday gift! I am so pumped to visit my friends at their school and reunite with them since most of them I haven't seen in over a year and a half!
I can't believe...that my favorite channel to watch while relaxing is HGTV. Favorite show? House Hunters International. I love when they travel to far off places that I've only dreamed about visiting! Also my favorite part of the show is to try to guess which house they are going to go for! I've always been fond of interior design...Probably due to my constant playing of The Sims for hours on end during middle school. So guilty of that.
I can't believe...that I'm starting to partake in things that are good for me! Like going to the gym every day if possible! I went four days in a row last week which is crazy if you knew how much physical activity I enjoy to get (read: zero to none). I do like how after I work out I feel really good about myself and it takes out all my anger and stress.
I can't believe...I finally got Luke Bryan tickets!!! What a great way to start the summer. What makes it even better? Florida Georgia Line.
Heeeellooooo beautiful!
I can't believe...how I forgot that the weather impacts my moods so much! I am such a warm weather girl, being born in the summer, it always excites me the first day that it hits above 55 degrees and the sun is shining without a cloud in the sky!
I can't believe...I just discovered this song! So catchy and makes me want summer. now!
