Haunted Divine Lorraine?

Bare with me for a moment when I become conceited for about .2 seconds. I definitely think I have an eye for art. Granted, I am FULLY aware that there are people who have a sharper eye than I do (weird, cause I don't need glasses ya know?!). My favorite part about art is that theres really no right way to do it. Art to me, could be junk and shit to you.

Like I've mentioned in about one hundred and seven of my posts, I love being in the city. So much loving that if marrying the city of Philadelphia was a thing, I think I'd do it. Maybe I'll just stick to attempting to be mayor or something. Seriously Philly has not been called 'Filthadelphia' for no reason.

So history lesson! Whenever I leave Temple University, I always pass the "Divine Lorraine Hotel" also known as the abandoned building that I don't understand why because despite the graffiti (which I don't understand, either, obviously...OR HOW THEY DO THAT) I love the style of it. After my really good mood morning drive on Thursday, and a good ole post on my instagram, I couldn't resist wanting to learn more about it.  #Broadstreet

Next, nerdy me started to creep on it via google images. I learned that it was one of the first hotels (originally appartments in industrial 1800's) in the early 1940's to integrate any race and religion at a hotel, as well as not allowing cursing, smoking, OR eating in your own room. (Originally it was an all-white hotel.) They had a central kitchen/dining area for that! All about that modesty, considering men and women couldn't even sleep on the same floors. A reverend at the time took over the hotel, and turned the top floor into an auditorium where he held services.

Now? It's just an abandoned building. But I'm COMPLETELY dying to go in there and see what its like. Who's with me adventures? No, seriously. I'm looking at you Cat or Monica. Or literally anyone who lives near (far works too!!!)
