I'm guilty on clicking on links telling me how I will know he's not the one, The reasons it's okay to be alone, and The best things about dating a jewish girl. Some posts make me cry, some make me think about things too intently, and some I just laugh at/with. They truly are FABULOUS time wasters, homework procrastinators, and giggle worthy to share all over your facebook.

One time I was at a (shawty got low low low low) low point in my life, and was struggling with relationship dramz. The guy I was supposed to be hating (not the boyf at the time) told me something I will never forget and choose to share with the world, always. He told me that we can ask ALL the people, ALL the friends in the world about relationship advice...however, noone knows the relationship like you and your significant other does. Yeah, go ahead read the article, text your bestie, post a note (if you please) and upload it on instagram, but truly you have to follow your heart, not follow the rules.
You're right. The rules say I'm a senior in college, I should be sleeping around and not caring about a relationship. But you know that's not me. My heart says, like my post today, to enjoy this season of life the best I can. I love you so much <3
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS SO TRUE. and I would like to tell it to some people I know. "YOU DON'T KNOW MY LIFE."
ReplyDeleteSo true! I feel like I too often follow my heart… and it leads me down the same path every time. :(

I LOVE this post Rach! It's awesome!
ReplyDeleteVERY TRUE.
ReplyDeleteone thing i learned (that i wish i had learned earlier in life) is to never talk about your relationship issues to people. because #1 they will give you advice that is not fitting for you, and #2 they will never forget it. if you get in a fight with your bf and you go and complain to someone about it, they're always gonna remember the negative things you said about him. and never care about all the good things.
i think that that guy told you is brilliant. only YOU and the other person involved truly knows what works.
This is a great post and today I'm reading so many post that are giving me motivation and inspiration to right heart felt post. Hope you have a great weekend.

you are absolutely right reading articles used to get me all panicked but no one's relationship is cookie cutter. We all have different ways of being happy!
ReplyDeleteLove this!! It's why I started the Path of the Single girl posts on Mondays, I'm so sick of hearing everything I am doing wrong or what I have to do to find Mr Right. How about we enjoy this single time!? (And I don't mean enjoy by sleeping with 10087930 guys, but to each their own) but enjoy the endless possibilities of things only single people can do because you will spend a lonnnggg time in a relationship someday!
