Lately, I've been doing a ton of reflecting. Whether it be my long dreaded drive homes from Lancaster, to walking across campus in the freezing cold wind. I've grown to be the person I am from my experiences -- and I want to share it all with you.
1. Long distance relationships can work || I've found myself far too often crying on the two hour drive home (read: It's actually only 1:30, for I drive at a monster speed, and I probably shouldn't be admitting this..) after what felt like a long weekend but in reality was a total of about 48 hours. In the beginning I cried every time thinking to myself, 'I actually wont see him anytime soon, I know it.' But boy was I wrong..and I am SO glad. I am so fortunate to be able to see my best friend as much as I have. Bottom line: It might suck, but you and I both know it is worth it, and you can most definitely get through it.
2. You don't need to be in a sorority to have friends || I tried out a week of sorority life, being a new member and I just couldn't find my spot. I was the eager little blonde girl that has been dreaming of being a true Elle woods in the making since I first saw Legally Blonde. I figured it would make my time at college so much better (which it does for anyone, don't get me wrong) but I found the wrong place for me.
3. It takes being upset to realize how fortunate you are to have such a great support system || My friends and family mean too much to me. I, like many others, always take things and people for granted. Aside drama, fights, and the fact that people grow apart, You know you will always have that group of people, no matter what you have been through, that will always be there for you.
4. Taking time for yourself is needed || Don't forget to add in 'me time' in your busy To-Do list. Even if your catching up on sleep, downloading some new music to your iPod, or what I do..check out my favorite blogs!
5. Prioritize || I get it. When your busy you just either A). Cry about it until you find the motivation to do it, B). Find other 'busy' work to do like clean your room, organize your desk or underwear drawer, and even pantry, C) Make a list starting with important tasks/things due sooner, or D) ALL.THREE. Trust me, I understand but you will much better when you can organize.
