Adios (AKA Peace Out)!

"Every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end..."

Ah yep, we know that quote too well. Something we once quoted at the end of a bad breakup. Something we belted out in the car. Something we are reminded of at the end of a classic Millennial-ish movie, Friends with benefits.

If you've realized Sunshiney Rach has been posting less and less...you're right. No way in hell am I ever leaving (SORRYNOTSORRY)...just making some cha-cha-cha-changes.The chapter of Sunshine and Sinatra (read: Sunshiney Rach) is coming to an itty bitty close.

While I'm waiting for the Sunshiney door to close (Truthfully this is sad to EVEN type), I have to shout out to a few people and things I've learned under my colorful ray in this corner of the web I've called home.

BLOG FRIENDS ARE 100% REAL. Not in the catfish sense (I'd hope) but there are people who are here to support your crazy changes (and encourage it -- cough cough The Rachael Way cough cough) and even let you bounce ideas off of one another. I've loved nothing more than bloggers sending me emails asking questions (It makes me feel important and that I sort of have a purpose in blogging) and even all the times I've stressed about my blog design, sponsorship options, and everything else -- all my blog friends have been there for me.
All the feels c/o: Erin, Robin, Lacey, Lauren, Kathryn, Juliette, Meredith, Carolina and TOO MANY MORE.

My instagram account: Thanks for being so fabulous and letting me get a bunch of likes and post things I care about and think are artsy as hell. When I'm famous, many more people will appreciate you more than I do. X's and O's....

Opporunities, y'all are the ish. I've been able to try great new products, go new places, get out of my comfort zone a centimeter and a half. I can't wait to see what else we have in store for one another!

And to my boo, Sunshine and Sinatra: I'll love you forever (since you helped me find who I am *cliche* and what I love to do...write)! Thanks for literally being my partner in crime. Thanks for letting me share you with the duds, the employers, the heartbreaks, the terrible dates, and the world whenever googling things relating to Sunshine and Sinatra. I'm sorry I'm putting you to rest, but there's a new girl in town and she's sort of really ready to take over...

To stay connected on all things ME, make sure you follow along on twitter and instagram!
@Sun_and_Sinatra twitter IS being deleted.

Until July 1st....
Always and forever,
Sunshiney Rach

(note: Okay writing this was more upsetting than I thought it would ever be.)

Friday the 13th? STAY INSIDE.

Getting out of bed, I checked my phone and saw the big FRIDAY 13 on my second icon in on the left, the calendar. I saw it sure, but it didn't make me think of anything so I carried on with my normal day. I went to the dentist, ate a solo brunch (ain't no shame, truly), and had to hit up a meeting. Oh! I even put on my mom pants (as per usual) and went food shopping because yes, I live the most exciting life a college student could ever ask for.

Rushing around, not taking a second to really breathe and feeling anxious ALL day (okay, maybe it was the amount of coffee I had...), it started to rain before I got in the car to tailgate Dave Matthews Band. After going back and forth worrying if it was going to torrential downpour, I put on my big girl shorts and hopped in my car. Hello I love DMB so why would I EVER let $54 worth of loving go to waste? Exactly.

The rain started to clear up, in the distance I could see patches of sunshine so I was like Oh wow, this day really is going to be fun! About to cross the bridge (I was on my way to Philly), I merge into the proper lane *BECAUSE I AM A SAFE AND FABULOUS DRIVER* and BOOM. Or more like a thump. Yea, definitely a thump. A loud one. For my tire and my heart.

Usually my car eats up potholes (minus: time 1 and time 2(just last month)) and I'm on my way but Friday the 13th was MUCH different. I got about .5 miles farther until my baby was dead instantly - like an ant when you stomp on them (or is that just a me thing because I hate insects alike?)

I angrily attacked my phone keyboard with the words "**!&^@ FLAT TIRE. CAN'T COME TO DAVE". You can only imagine how much of a mess I was. I was about 5 minutes from the concert venue itself, so I was maybe considering walking (even though its #1 of the worst places in America...what fun, right)! I called my mom, was on hold with automated messages to get my car towed, and worrying about the damn cost and -54 from my sweet baby bank account. Luckily my car got towed, My mom drove me to dave, and I only missed the first part (aka acoustic). However he DID play Some Devil and that made me the happiest flat tire princess in ALL THE LAND.

How to make your Friday the 13th's livable from now on? Hit up my good friend Dave Matthews.

Rittenhouse Square: To do

Hat: H&M
Top: Forever 21
Shorts: H&M
Crossbody: H&M (similar)
Shoes: Marshalls

There are weeks where I spend day after day, driving over the sacred scary bridge to enter the world of the place where the constitution was signed. A tourist attraction for many, but a second home to me. Rittenhouse Square is a place for everyone. The bloggers, the hipsters, the couples, the elites -- even you and me.

If you're ever in the area there are places you must check out:
Food: Parc / Crazy Sushi / Marathon Grill
To Do: Walk the Park (usually to people watch/see a free concert) / Blo Out Bar
Shop: Madewell / Barnes & Noble / Free People / Anthropology
Coffee: Elixr / Parc

Quick and easy access to Swann Fountain and Love Park

What else would you add to the list of things to do in Rittenhouse?

What gives you strength?

As you probably know (especially if you follow me on twitter), the Miss USA 2014 competition was last night. It's one of the five nights throughout the year (besides Miss Universe, Miss teen USA, and Miss New Jersey USA, and Miss America), that I take over news feeds and take the term "live tweet" very literally. As watching with my mom last night she decided to ask, "Why are you so obsessed with pageants anyway I don't get it?", as I filled out my bracket.

I replied to her, "ITS YOUR FAULT", and she just laughed. But really, it's her fault that I scream at my TV, put on my Miss USA related tshirts, and scroll through my twitter every .2 seconds switching between watching that and the television.

See more here:

Without my moms push, I would have truly never found my passion and hopefully future career. A pageant girl always and forever, whether on the stage or behind the scenes. Like I said, I've always enjoyed watching how incredible my mom is and how much I want to follow in her footsteps.

Who else has given me strength? My inspirations, a holocaust survivor, Trudy Albom, and so many more. What about you, who's given you the strength to try new things? Sometimes you just need the little push to help you fly, you know?

Besides my mom encouraging me to get out of my comfort zone, she comforts me when I am sick-- specifically when I have a killer headache. With the help of Extra Strength Tylenol, it's fast acting so I can get right back to being the busiest bee that I am. For 20 years, Extra Strength Tylenol® has been the #1 doctor recommended brand of pain reliever.

Extra Strength TYLENOL® is partnering with actress Andie McDowell and her daughter, actress
and singer Rainey Qualley, to launch www.TylenolStoriesOfStrength.com, a program that encourages people to share stories honoring someone who has been a source of strength in their lives. Andie had the opportunity to learn how her strength inspires her daughter, Rainey, to be strong.

Now or Never.

I'm guessing my theme of the week is all about finding inspiration through other outlets than my own crazy noggin. I turned to Vogue magazine the other day, and today? It's all about my pinterest feed.  I'm truly blessed to be a millennial because all the different resources we have today. But then again, ladies in the early 1900's were definitely NOT concerned with if their skirt looked poofy-er than their besties...atleast I don't think so.

As you can tell from all social media spaces of mine that the verdict is I'm not to sure how to wear other colors besides black. Black goes with anything, any season (even when your swimming in your own sweat in the sunlight at a baseball game). However, I'm definitely a fan of colorful attraction in other places and things.

Chinese Laundry shoes that just debuted? I need to save cash money for that one. They are perfect wedges and like all Chinese Laundry shoes, they are as comfortable as your sunday morning slippers. Scouts honor.

The black striped shirt just GETS me in every single way possible. The beautiful thing about that baaaaaad boy is that he can tag along almost always. He sports my two favorite things: no color and visual pleasing things for this Miss New Booty.  (source)

However I'm actually pretty sure I'm dying (like, literally #MillennialProblems) about the Zelda book. My sister keeps recommending in and that is on my To do list behiiiind my historical novels, this book that I'm currently reading, AND my other Zelda stories.

Being that everything on my Summer pinterest board is inspiring me in one shape and doodle or another, the bike, the hat, the flowers -- all make me think of summer. So if there is a way to transport myself into that photo (NOT BY PHOTOSHOP), let me know stat. When I picture summa summa summa time, I see that. Don't you?

WHY DID MY MOTHER GRACE ME WITH THE PRESENCE OF NOT UNDERSTANDING HOW TO WEAR COLOR? I think it's okay until I see how pleasant people look in colors like orange and red and green. But I did come across this boho/hipster/fabbyfab dress via NecessaryClothing.com.

Now or Never. If you take a step or two back, have a few sips of some pinot grigio, and think about that phrase, it's more powerful than meets the eye. As cliche white girl as I'm going to sound, I think this summer for me is all about taking chances to further my career and outlook on the person I want to become. If you choose the never in the heads or tail games of life then you are simply stuck with regret and that just flippin' sucks. So get to the now and get 'er done (just like that last chug of ya wine glass).

Summer is HERE!

It's 136% true that summer is here and I put on my excited pants about it. Here's what I've been up to!

Interviews in the city, my favorite place to be. Post interview, I had had had to hit up my caffeine fix and I admittedly got lost in the city, since it's in a part I don't explore often. I truly felt Carrie Bradshaw like circa Carrie Diaries. Intern life in the city? Truly a dream. Also holler at houndstooth dresses, always a plus.

Although I was #blessed with a shopping spree at a local mall, you can always find me in TJ Maxx. Granted, I just wanted to get in the dressing room to take an OOTD because starbucks. Good reasoning, right?

This past weekend was spent down the shore. I can't say it was the definition of relaxing since I was there for other purposes that did not include relaxing as one of the things on my to-do list. However, I got burnt unintentionally (which will turn into tan YAY...don't get mad). However, I did pick up some awesome shots you can find on my instagram, and got a totally awesome TBT gift of a polaroid camera! I cannot wait to use it on my blate tomorrow!

The other day, I hit up J.Crew and their amaze sale. However, of course, I picked up the only black item J.Crew would ever house. I ended up with an 8 dollar baseball cap, and couldn't be happier.

What have you been up to?
